Dear Expectant Mother:
We’re Demetrios and Stacey, and we’re incredibly grateful that you’re taking the time to get to know us. Hopefully, you’ll give us the chance to get to know you, too!
We’re deeply humbled that you’ve taken the first steps in your adoption journey. We firmly believe that placing a baby for adoption is a courageous and loving decision. You already have our admiration and respect, and we don’t even know you yet.
We know that you have many options before you and it likely hasn’t been an easy road to get here. Please know that should you choose us, we will spend the rest of our lives unconditionally cherishing your child. Our hope is that by the end of this book, you’ll see us not so much as strangers, but as two genuinely good people you’d like to get to know. And after time, hopefully, a family with whom you can imagine your sweet baby thriving.
We have been together for nearly 15 years. Like many couples, we met on a dating website and fell madly in love. Our greatest wish is to share and expand our love by creating a family together. We have prayed for a child for many years now, and thanks to our faith have hope that our prayers will be answered through the miracle of adoption.
I grew up in the sunshine state of Florida. I have one brother, one step-brother, and one step-sister – I love them very much!! Our home was always busy with neighborhood friends enjoying our pool. Some of my fondest family memories were times at the beach. I attended the University of South Florida, where I received a degree in Human Resources and Business Administration. I moved to Chicago to be with Demetrios. After all these years, I’m still getting used to the snow. I am a human resources manager for a global retail brand and have the luxury of a flexible work schedule. I love to volunteer with social service agencies in my area, as well.
I grew up in the Chicago suburbs in a very loving family. I have two brothers and one sister. As a child I was involved in many activities, including sports, playing at the park, and spending fun time with cousins.
I graduated from Lincoln Technical College. I am a senior truck account manager and train all new employees. Working out, listening to music, going to the movies, bike riding, and volunteering are just a few things that I enjoy. I am incredibly eager to include a child in our lives.
I am extremely grateful to be married to Stacey. She is very bright, a fantastic cook, successful in her career, likes to joke, but most importantly, she is generous with her love. She is truly committed to our relationship. Every day she finds some way to show me that she loves me – a warm hug after work, a quick e-mail to say hi, or holding my hand as we take a walk. I look forward to watching her shower our baby with kisses, hugs, and a lifetime of love.
Demetrios is loving and caring with a wonderful sense of humor. He is patient, honest, understanding and wise. I am blessed to have him in my life. He is committed to family. The times we spend together laughing and enjoying each other’s company are the best times in life. He is also nurturing and makes me smile every day. He is very passionate about his work and family and he will be a great father! We are best friends and partners in life. I continue to fall in love with him each day and look forward to sharing our love with our child.
Both of our families are a big part of our lives. We come from very traditional families with households full of love. Our parents adore their children and grandchildren. They are excited to welcome another grandchild. Both sets of grandparents are retired and live in either Greece or Florida and we talk to them frequently. Stacey’s brother Lee and sister-in-law, Chrissy, live in Chicago. They have one child, Daniel who is three years old, quite cute, very active, and just waiting for a new cousin.
Demetrios’ brother, George, and sister, Toula live in California. Toula is married to Justin and they have Chris, Anna, and Alexandra. Demetrios also has a brother who lives in Greece with his family. Demetrios has close extended family that live nearby. All of his family is eager to welcome a baby into our lives.
We live in a beautiful two bedroom townhome in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. Our home is very warm, cozy and comfortable. The pool, clubhouse and adjoining backyards are filled with the sounds of children playing. We live walking distance to the park and highly rated schools.
We promise to provide your baby with a loving, nurturing, and supportive home. We want to provide the same type of family that we grew up in. Well create an environment that will allow our children to grow up into healthy, happy, confident adults. We envision a family life filled with exploration, learning, play, laughter, and unconditional love. While we love to laugh and have fun, we are committed to providing a college education to help our children fulfill their dreams. We are looking forward to reading bed-time stories, playing in our backyard, riding bikes, visiting the zoo, and swimming together. We are ecstatic to become parents!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you consider your decision. Your courage is to be commended, and your child will always know of your loving choice. We know that you are a very special person to give the gift of life. You will forever hold a special place in our hearts!
