Birth parent services
Client Reviews
ACFB was not our first adoptive agency we have explored, but it was the right place for us. They genuinely care about everyone involved in the adoption process, including the birth mothers. They were honest, helpful and supportive. We will forever be grateful, that thanks to ACFB our family is complete.
My daughter was able to place her baby with a lovely couple this week. Thank you, Linda Fiore, for making this all so professional and comfortable as we made the decision that is right for everyone. Thank you to Mary for guiding my daughter so lovingly. God's blessings for the adoptive parents who opened their arms to our whole family. Thank you to all who made this happen! God Bless you!
The best part of working with ACFB is the education you receive before you make any decisions or invest in anything, they want to know your story - the trauma or sadness that you have been through before you start your adoption journey. ACFB creates a successful environment for adoptive parents to create successful families.
Birth parent services
When you contact the Adoption Center, we will match you with a birth parent counselor who will guide you through the process, supporting you every step of the way. Our goal is to help you make a plan for yourself and your baby that is comfortable, without pressure, and as stress-free as possible.
You are entitled to receive free and comprehensive services and ongoing support, including:
- Professional counseling – Talk one-on-one with an experienced birth parent counselor who will help you plan for your future and that of your baby.
- A personalized adoption plan – Tell us about your preferences for an adoptive family, such as race, siblings, age, and the type of relationship you want before and after the placement.
- Your choice of adoptive parents – You are able review letters and pictures of waiting families and choose your baby’s adoptive parents.
- Quality medical care – We will help you apply for medical coverage, if needed. If you have private medical insurance that does not cover 100 percent of your care, we will make sure that you are not left with a medical bill. The adoptive family will pay the deductible and/or co-pay, as needed.
- Help with living expenses – In accordance with your state’s adoption laws, we will assist you with living expenses (e.g. rent, food, utilities, phone, maternity clothing, and other basic necessities) for a period of time before and after the placement.
- Legal assistance – Working with an experienced adoption attorney, we will adhere to the laws in your state to ensure that the adoption plan you make for your baby is secure, and your rights are protected.
- Open adoption – You and your child’s adoptive parents will determine the type of openness and contact following the placement. You may agree to stay in touch through family visits, phone calls, email or social networking. Some women prefer a closed adoption.
