We met in high school at a choir competition in Michigan and have been friends ever since. We love music, reading, playing games and look forward to sharing all of this with a new member of our family. Maria is a pre-school teacher in Chicago and Leo is a physical therapist, and we both love our jobs helping each other. After careful thought, we have been led to adoption to begin our family. We are Margo, John, and Bevan, and we are grateful that you have taken the time to read our profile and learn a little more about us. Margo grew up in Northern Wisconsin and John grew up in Minnesota and we now call the suburbs of Chicago home. Margo is a biologist who teaches college courses and John is a biologist in a lab. Bevan is both a scientist and athlete as he makes Harry Potter potions and plays soccer and practices ninja gymnastics. Bevan is excited to become a big brother! We are Kristen and Michael and live in the suburbs of Illinois. Kristen is a high school math teacher and Michael owns his own business. We love going on family walks or runs, and yes, all our dogs run with us even our 14-year-old, who is the youngest at heart. As we write this letter our hearts, minds and souls are filled with excitement and emotion. We promise that we will support and cherish you through this process, and are empathetic to the range of emotions that you may be feeling. We met at a Jewish Shabbat (Sabbath) dinner in our community in July 2018. In June 2020, we got married in Kristin’s parent’s backyard in a small ceremony due to COVID. Then, on our first anniversary, we were able to finally have our big reception with all our family and friends. Since then, we’ve been talking about how to grow our family and it was Kristin’s lifelong desire to adopt so we knew from the beginning that adoption would be a part of our family plan.
