Hello!
Our Story:

About Becky
I grew up in a small, close-knit family in Ohio and attended college at nearby Miami University. I have a degree in early childhood education, and have taught both kindergarten and first grade. I have a passion for reading, and love to collect children’s books and read them to my students. Every year I dress up as The Cat in The Hat to celebrate Dr Seuss’s birthday. I’m beyond excited to teach our child how to read! I love going to the ballet, opera, and symphony. I also love taking walks, and enjoy our quiet neighborhood, the Chicago Botanic gardens, and anywhere that we travel. I can’t wait to have a tiny companion on my walks.
Chris’s favorite things about Becky: “Her kindness and patience, her ability to make me laugh, and her willingness to try new things. She has moved cross-country (twice!), learned to ski, zip-lined down a mountain, and tried many different types of exotic foods, mostly just because I asked her to trust me. She will be a great mom because she has such a big heart.”
About Chris
I grew up in a large and lively family in Ohio and went to college in South Carolina at Clemson University. I also attended the University of California San Francisco where I conducted cancer research and earned a PhD in Biochemistry. Today I work for a large pharmaceutical company and work with other scientists and doctors to help bring new life-saving medicines to patients. My favorite room in our home is the kitchen, where I enjoy experimenting with new recipes (once a scientist, always a scientist!) and cooking meals to share with family and friends. I’m equally comfortable in a football stadium with 80,000 other fans as I am in a small concert hall listening to music. I’m slowly learning to appreciate tinkering in the yard, although I admit I’m not very good at it yet.
Becky’s favorite things about Chris: “He is very thoughtful. He can talk to anyone on any topic – whether it is complicated science, baseball stats, old movies, or pop culture. He makes me laugh and is always finding something fun for us to do. We make a great team. With him, I feel safe and loved, and I know our child will too!”

Things We Love to Do Together

Our Family

Our Home and Community
We live in a Northern suburb of Chicago, on a quiet cul-de-sac in a neighborhood filled with trees and flowers, where there are always children playing. Our immediate neighbors all have young children eager to play! Our street is constantly filled with the happy sounds of children laughing, driveway basketball games, and parents playing catch with their children. There is a park only a 5-minute walk away, with a playground where children happily play together. We own a four-bedroom home, and when we first looked at the house we knew exactly which room would be the nursery and could immediately envision reading bedtime stories, cooking family dinners together, and playing outside in the backyard. It’s a wonderful place to raise a family!
