Angie and Norm

Hi there!
We are Norm and Angie and we have been married for almost 16 years. We live in Northwest Indiana, and are two fun loving, very active people that can’t wait to be parents. Thank you just doesn’t seem like a big enough word to describe the selfless act that you are choosing for your child’s future. We hope to share a glimpse of who we are in this profile and look forward to meeting you to learn about you and your wishes for your child and provide an opportunity for you to get to know us even more.

We met through mutual friends and there was an instant attraction. Norm had just began apprenticeship school for Ironworking and Angie was in college for pharmacy/medical sales. Shortly after graduating we were married. We enjoyed being newlyweds and building our future together. After a few years, we decided that we wanted to start a family and ran into some difficulty.

We traveled down a long and challenging fertility journey only to discover we were no closer to having our family than when we first started so we decided to explore adoption. Although the fertility journey was both physically and mentally challenging, we learned a lot about who we are and what we value.

The experience taught us to lean on one another, to be strong for one another, and our love grew deeper than we ever could have imagined. We are each other’s person! We can only imagine the emotions that you are going though as you are on a journey of your own. It is certainly not the easy path but hands down the most selfless and courageous one. We thank you for the loving and courageous decision that you are making. We look forward to getting to know a bit more about you and your hopes and wishes for your child’s future.

Meet Norm
I was born in Northwest Indiana and I’m the youngest of four. I have fond memories of time spent on my Aunt and Uncle’s house in the country. With my red wagon in tow and my dog, Captain, I would explore the outdoors until the sun went down. I still enjoy exploring the outdoors and being active in just about anything. I enjoy snowmobiling, snowboarding, boating, riding my motorcycle, going to sporting events and Broadway plays.

As an Ironworker, I am no stranger to working hard and always seem to have a home improvement project or something going on. I’m currently in the process of finishing our basement.

One of the most fun projects I did was creating an animated display and decorating the house for Halloween. The neighborhood really looks forward to this every year and people from all over drive by to enjoy. Click on the clip to see an example of one of the songs. As far as my personality goes I tend to be on the quiet side at first, but warm up quickly and can be quite witty but always genuine.

Meet Angie
I was born in Northwest Indiana, and I have two sisters: one older (Amy) and one younger (Amanda). We are very close and I am so grateful for them! Amanda and I live about a block away from each other and we often take walks around the neighborhood together. I have one niece, Natalie (Amy’s daughter), and another (almost) niece, Lucy (Amanda’s daughter), ready to make her appearance any day now. My Mom lives nearby and there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t talk to her and my sisters.

I enjoy my work in medical sales. I love the challenge it brings along with the flexibility that it offers. I, like Norm, enjoy being active. It can include doing something simple like walking around a farmer’s market or a local festival or planning little get-a-ways. One of our favorite places to visit is a little Bavarian town in Michigan known for its huge Christmas store. There are lots of family activities to enjoy like singing carols around the town Christmas tree or learning how to make pretzels like we did with my niece Natalie.
My personality is very bubbly and outgoing. I generally look for the silver lining in most situations. I really just enjoy being around people and having fun.

Meet Our Dog, Zoey
We could almost write an entire book on Zoey. Weighing in around 7 pounds, Zoey is the most loving Maltese around. She has a happy and funny personality. She has one dog toy that is her absolute favorite. The head sort of pulls away from the body so that you can launch it. She will retrieve it over and over and over again. In fact the toy got so overused that it eventually gave way and broke in two pieces. She looked so sad and would carry the pieces around. We went to the store and brought her back one in every color! She faithfully plays with them every day! We spend a lot of time outside around the house and Zoey loves to be right there with us. Whether it’s pulling weeds, washing cars, or just relaxing on the deck she is never far from us. She will even ride on the lawn tractor with me while mowing the lawn.

Our Community
We live in a wonderful community just on the outskirts of town. Our neighborhood is located just behind the school which is ranked in the top 5% in Indiana. The lots are all an acre minimum so there is plenty of room, but it still has that neighborhood feel with sidewalks and even a pond. It’s very common to see neighbors walking or jogging around the block or kids riding bikes.

Thank YOU
We are both so impressed with you for embarking on this journey; we know it isn’t easy! Thank you for taking the time to read our letter and learning a little about us. We look forward to learning more about you as well. Above all, we wish you peace as you navigate through all of your choices.
