Dear Expectant Mother,
Our Relationship

Meet Jay (written by Tiffany)
My husband is fun, loud, and full of energy — a kid at heart who loves to live in the moment. He’s funny, mechanically gifted, and has a great memory. We truly make a team. He’s the one who takes out the trash, helps with dishes (because I really don’t like doing them), and takes care of our vehicles, camper, and boat. Lately, he’s been taking care of our dogs at night when he’s home, practicing for those middle-of-the-night baby duties ahead!
Jay has been driving trucks for over 15 years. His favorite thing to drive, however, is our camper to Lake Shelbyville in Illinois. When we’re camping, you’ll usually find him doing one of two things: giving family and friends rides on the lake or being king of the grill. He’s always cracking jokes and making us smile but knows when it’s time to be serious.
Meet Tiffany (written by Jason)
My wife is fun, honest, reliable, and creative. She’s always thinking ahead and keeps life organized with plenty of lists (because she admits she can be a bit forgetful!). She works about 35 hours a week and balances that with grocery shopping, doing dishes when she has to (usually when I’m not home), laundry, cooking (she makes the best tacos!), taking care of our dogs, and other household duties.
She’s the director of a small-town library in her hometown, and she truly loves her job and the community she serves. Some of her favorite programs to run are Storytime and Gingerbread House Decorating. We even donate prizes for the monthly Bingo or Bunco events. After work, you’ll often find her cuddled up on the couch with our “babies” (the dogs) listening to audiobooks. When she has free time, she enjoys hunting for good deals, hanging out around the campfire, and spending time at the lake.

Home and Our family
We live in a small ranch home on 3 acres in the country. Tiffany’s parents live next door on 24 wooded acres. One of the ways we bonded was both being from the country. This is one of the things we valued from our childhood and cannot wait to raise our children with these values. Tiffany’s dad has been putting trails in the woods for walking and riding on the golf cart. Someday we hope to have a power wheel trail to grandma and grandpa’s house.
Our house features an open concept, allowing us to have holidays with the family and everyone in the same room. It also makes it easy for Tiffany to cook while Jay plays with Chop, Batman, and D. The dogs were all adopted from the Human Society and love being able to run around outside and in. When looking outdoors, wildlife comes close, giving a view of squirrels, birds, deer, and even a wild turkey or two.
Camping feels like our home away from home. Many of our friends and relatives enjoy camping, and we get together with them whenever we can. Jay’s parents started the family tradition of camping. Jay’s sister, brother-in-law, and niece also join us, along with many friends we consider family. Our campsites are usually filled with people, laughter, and delicious food.
Our Hope

We can’t wait to become parents! We look forward to every step of this journey and are ready to dedicate our lives to caring for and loving your child. Watching them grow is the part we are most excited about, and if you choose, we would love for you to share those milestones with us.
We eagerly anticipate hearing their first “mama” or “dada,” reading to them, and playing together. Jason is already looking forward to teaching them to drive and has even started checking out toys. We want to be there for every part of parenting—even the challenging moments like sleepless nights, crying, and dirty diapers.
