Dear Expectant Mother,,

Get to Know Us
Our paths crossed while living in Louisville, Kentucky when we were set up by a friend in 2013. Brian’s friend intended to set him up with someone else; however, the friend ended up dating the girl himself. Feeling guilty, Brian’s friend let him know that there was a roommate, Sarah, and the rest is history. It was quickly apparent that Brian’s rational, laid-back personality paired well with Sarah’s outgoing, creative qualities. We spent lots of time doing things that we both still enjoy today such as traveling, camping, visiting breweries, family gatherings, and getting together with friends. We were married in 2017 and then moved into our home in southern Indiana. After years of infertility, we realized we had so much love to share, and adoption was our path to do so.
We love being in nature and going on hikes in nearby parks. Brian stops and looks at every bug and snake while Sarah is scared and running away. We both find fishing to be a fun pastime. Even though Brian is the experienced fisherman, Sarah loves to out fish him. We enjoy running, walking, hiking, and trail running. The past few years we have trained and ran the Louisville Derby Mini Marathon. We enjoy the competition and plan to continue running races.
Traveling has been a big part of our lives since getting married. We have been fortunate to explore Iceland, Mexico, Ireland, Amsterdam, Brussels, Costa Rica, Germany, and other parts of the United States. We want to continue traveling once our family expands and allow our child to see all that the world has to offer.

Family and Friends
We both come from large, German Catholic families that gather for pretty much everything. Brian is the oldest of three and his family lives in the area. Sarah is the youngest of three and her family lives a short drive away. Both of our parents are still happily married and proud to be grandparents to our nieces and nephews. We are currently aunt and uncle to seven nieces and nephews. Our families are overjoyed that we are hoping to adopt. We know that they will be there to help care for our child and to love them just like they were for us.
We are proud parents to our dog Holly. She is a four-year-old rescue dog that brings us lots of entertainment. Her personality is loving and energetic. She is fascinated by leaves blowing in the yard and sniffing every scent. Brian’s love for animals has also grown our family to be home to fish, and three terrariums full of frogs and lizards.
Friends have always been a big part of our lives. Friends are what drew us together and have kept us enjoying life. We love getting together at each other’s houses, meeting up at restaurants, or going to LouCity Soccer matches. We enjoy spending time with our friends’ children and gathering with them for annual Halloween and Kentucky Derby Parties.
