Kalli and Steve

Dear Expectant Mother,

Thank you so much for taking the time to read our profile and learn about us. We can only imagine how challenging this journey may feel, and we deeply admire the courage, thoughtfulness, and love it takes to make an adoption plan. As you read our story, please know we hold your strength and selflessness in our hearts.
We hope to welcome your child into our family filled with love and support. They’ll grow up enjoying family dinners, time outdoors, creativity, and silly jokes. Most importantly, they will always know they are safe, celebrated, and cherished for exactly who they are.

Meet Us

We first met in high school when mutual friends set us up for prom. That night sparked something special and by the summer of 2006, we became a couple. During our college years, daily phone calls and weekend road trips helped us build a foundation of trust, patience, and connection. In 2014, Steve proposed on the shores of Lake Michigan, and a year later we were married in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, surrounded by the family and friends who taught us the importance of love and commitment.

We are a family that loves spending time together. We play games like Taco vs. Burrito, walk the dog to Gillson Beach, grab donuts or ice cream, cheer on the Cubs, and try new things like paddleboarding or cupcake decorating. As hopeful parents, we’re looking forward to sharing big adventures and little everyday joys as a family.

At our core, we are a team and best friends. Steve brings steady calm and humor, while Kalli adds energy and adventure, while we both have a knack for making life fun. We’re excited to build a family where loyalty, kindness, and laughter come first.

Meet Kalli (Written by Steve)

Steve thinks Kalli will be a mom who is adventurous, intuitive, and full of energy. Kalli has a way of turning ordinary days into something special, whether it’s riding a roller coaster, spending time outside, traveling, or learning something new. She loves animals, thrift shopping for quirky treasures, and planning the perfect way to celebrate even the small things.

As an elementary school speech-language pathologist, Kalli spends her days helping children find their voices and build confidence through communication. She is patient, encouraging, and deeply invested in each child’s unique strengths – qualities she looks forward to bringing into motherhood.

Kalli will be the mom who is both fun and reliable, the kind of parent who plans birthday parties and family outings with care. She will encourage new experiences, like trying foods at a local festival or learning Spanish together, and she will make sure her child always feels loved through thoughtful traditions and quality time.

Meet Steve (Written by Kalli)

Kalli thinks Steve will be a dad who is patient, steady, and kind. Steve balances his hardworking, responsible side with a playful, kid-at-heart spirit. He loves sports (he played college baseball), staying active, and expressing his creativity through art and design. He has a gift for making people laugh and for staying calm no matter what life throws his way.

Steve works as the Director of Sales for a professional sports team, a role he loves because it combines his lifelong passion for sports with connecting people to memorable experiences. The joy of sports was passed down to him by his parents and he looks forward to passing along that same sense of teamwork and fun to his child.

Steve will be the dad who teaches his child how to draw, toss a baseball, and builds forts in the living room. He will be the dad who creates silly games and jokes, cheers from the sidelines, and always makes sure his child knows they are supported and loved.

Meet Juniper

“Hi! I’m Juniper, but most people call me June. That’s me in the picture racing in my hot dog costume. I didn’t win, but I had so much fun! I’m great at cuddling, wagging my tail, and making everyone smile. I love cheese and banana bread (yum!) and I can’t wait to keep my new little brother or sister company while they play. I’ll even share my favorite stuffies with them!”

Our Home and Community

If your child joins our family they will grow up in Evanston, Illinois, a diverse and welcoming community along Lake Michigan and home to Northwestern University. Our neighborhood has parks to explore, families who look out for one another, and plenty of community traditions. Whether it’s a trip to the farmers’ market, a stop at the bakery, or a sunny afternoon at the beach, there are endless opportunities to enjoy family time together.

They will also be surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who can’t wait to welcome them. Our family traditions are full of pizza nights, endless appetizers, and activities like gingerbread houses and pumpkin painting along with epic games of Spoons. Your child will always have a special place in the center of all the laughter and love.

In the photos, you can see Steve’s family full of holiday cheer at Christmas and Kalli’s family soaking up jungle vibes at the Rainforest Café (with Juniper, of course).

Our Promise

Your child will grow up in a home where kindness, laughter, and curiosity guide each day. They will be encouraged to explore their interests and supported in becoming exactly who they are meant to be.

Your child will always know their story, their background, and their roots are honored and celebrated. We promise to speak of you with respect and gratitude, so they grow up understanding the love and courage behind your decision.

Most of all, your child will always feel safe and valued, surrounded by people who believe in them, cheer for them, and love them unconditionally.

Thank you for considering us and taking the time to learn about our family. We hope we will have the opportunity of getting to know you too. Whatever you decide, we are wishing you peace, comfort, and love.
