Jill, Tim, and Anna

Hello!

We are Jill, Tim, and Anna. You probably didn’t expect to be reading this, just as we never expected to be writing it. We hope learning about us provides you with comfort in knowing that the difficult decision you’re making will result in your baby having a safe, loving, supportive, stable, fun childhood and life ahead. We also want to assure you that we are open to you playing an active role, in whatever way feels comfortable to you!

About Us

We met at Illinois State University and were friends for a few years before dating. We had an instant connection that continued to grow every time we ran into each other. Finally, after some nudging, Tim called and asked Jill for a date. We’ve now been married for nine years – time really does fly!

Had we written this four years ago, we would have focused on our love of frequent travel, cooking, going to movies and restaurants, golfing (Tim), baking (Jill), and nights with family and friends. We still find time for those things, but they’ve looked a bit different since Anna entered the picture in 2018. Trips involve more bags and pre-planned activities; frequent date nights have been replaced with bath and story time; more messes and taste testing occur while baking; there are less days on the golf course and more at the park; daily runs have transitioned into family bike rides…we wouldn’t change a thing! In fact, we can’t WAIT to welcome a new child into our family and complete our crew through adoption.

About Jill (by Tim)

Jill is bubbly, optimistic, and has an infectious laugh. She loves coming up with reasons to celebrate and is a #1 fan of traditions and holidays, especially Christmas. When COVID hit, we started hosting an outdoor “Christmas in July” celebration to bring family and friends together safely, and the tradition continues. With Christmas music on, Jill turns our home into a summer-wonderland. Her creativity amazes me!

Jill currently works from home as a Human Resources Manager. She enjoys her job and the flexibility of working only a few days per week, but she is looking forward to becoming a full-time mom – a role that was made for her!

More About Jill:

  • She is the very definition of a morning person.
  • She makes the best homemade desserts.
  • She is extremely caring and always puts others before herself.
  • She is the best mom, and I say that knowing there are two billion other moms in the world.

About Tim (by Jill)

Tim is adventurous and playful (just ask Anna!), which makes life happy, relaxed, and fun. He picks up on small details and uses them to create special moments. This also makes him an amazing gift-giver! He recently surprised us by making a chalkboard for Anna that I had found on Pinterest. We love his surprises but, more importantly, we love the thought and effort he puts into them (well, to be honest, Anna may love the surprises more than the thought).

Tim is also incredibly smart and hardworking.  He has a career as a Partner in an accounting firm nearby, but mostly works from home. We are blessed that his company values work-life balance and that he never misses out on Anna’s activities and appointments.

More About Tim:

  • He is athletic and a huge sports fan. He loves golfing and has been teaching Anna how to mini golf recently.
  • He is happiest when making others happy.
  • He is an amazing cook and prepares most of our dinners (lucky us!).
  • Tim is a hands-on, caring, silly, best-there-is type of “dada”!

Anna & Holly

Anna just turned four. She is spunky, thoughtful, active, creative, and she gives the best hugs. Her “sister”, our lab/beagle mix, Holly, gets about 300 hugs per day. She is currently in preschool and has a silly imagination. She also loves to play dress up, travel, play outside, and try new activities – gymnastics and soccer are her favorites so far. Judging by the way she helps care for her cousins and doll, we know she is going to be a FANTASTIC big sister. She has a gigantic heart and often tells Holly about the things they (she and Holly, of course) should teach their baby brother or sister.

Our Family

Our family means the world to us! We spend a lot of time with our parents, siblings, niece, and nephew.  They are loving, fun, and beyond supportive. In other words, there are nearby grandparents, aunts, uncles, and young cousins (Abram is two and Kennedy is one) on this adoption journey with us. We also have friends close by who we consider to be family and see often.

Both sets of our parents have marriages of over 40 years, which is something that inspires us. We grew up knowing how important family is, and we can’t wait to show the same to our children as they grow.

Our Home & Neighborhood

We live in a four-bedroom home in a suburb west of Chicago. Our favorite part of the house is the basement, which is a wide-open play area, complete with a play set and slide built by Tim. We also love that our backyard is fenced-in and provides lots of space for Anna and Holly to play!

When we were searching for our home, we wanted a safe neighborhood with young families, a great school district, nearby activities, and a small-town feel, and we found the perfect place. Our neighborhood has a bounce-house, giant party tent, and outdoor movie projector. There are several planned activities throughout the year and kids are playing together outside every day. We even live next door to another adoptive family!

Our Promise

Thank you for taking this step and considering adoption, and for considering us of course. We promise to always show your child love, to encourage him/her to dream big, to teach and learn from him/her, to value what makes him/her special, to always speak of you with kindness and gratitude, and to stay in contact with you, if that is your wish.

We would love to hear from you! You can reach us at JillandTimACFB@gmail.com or through our adoption counselor, La’Shea Gibson, by calling 800-869-1005, texting 708-320-8630, or emailing lashea@centerforfamily.com.

With love,
Jill, Tim, & Anna
