Jeanne and Pat

Dear Expectant Mother,

We are Pat and Jeanne and we are in awe of your strength and commitment as you face some very challenging decisions. We know it takes a loving and selfless woman to make an adoption plan for her baby, and we would be thrilled to have you consider us as adoptive parents for your child. We hope you are getting all of the support you deserve as you go through this process. We would like to help you anyway we can.

OUR STORY

We met through friends in early January of 2001.Our conversation flowed and It quickly became clear that we were a good match. We found that we lived, worked and hung out in the same places. It was only a matter of time before our paths would cross.

We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary last year and we both agree that the time has flown by! About five years ago we received the joyous news that we were expecting our first child and were crushed when Jeanne miscarried. The following years consisted of a surgery and several failed fertility procedures. All along we have remained committed to building our family, and adoption is the perfect choice for us.

Family is very important to us. We live just a few miles from Jeanne’s younger sister (Janet), brother in law (Eric) and their three kids, Katie (age 5) and twins, Ryan and Megan (age 3). We are regular fixtures in their lives and are Godparents to the twins. During Katie’s first year, Jeanne was Katie’s nanny while her parents worked. Because of that time together, Jeanne and Katie have an incredible bond between them.

We share a cozy home in the northwest suburbs of Chicago with our goofy and loveable cat, Theo. We adopted him through the Anti Cruelty Society last year. At ten years old, he is the sweetest, most gentle cat we have ever known! We are ready to truly embrace the joys and challenges of parenting and feel blessed to be taking this next exciting step. We have a room picked out to be the nursery and we live within walking distance of great schools and parks.

ABOUT PAT

Pat is the second of three boys. He is a caring, loving husband who wants nothing more than to be a dad one day. Pat has an easy going manner and has always been a devoted, hard worker. Pat is a sales director for a computer service company and has worked to build the company from the ground up. He has the flexibility to create his own schedule so he will be able to scale back his hours when our child arrives!

Pat is a sports nut, a history buff and has no reservations about being silly sometimes. He enjoys baseball, football, bowling, golf and skiing. He looks forward to sharing his interests with a child. In my opinion, Pat will be a wonderful father. Both kids and animals are very much at ease around him. In fact, they flock to him wherever he goes.

ABOUT JEANNE

Jeanne comes from a large Irish family that is not only close knit but very close geographically. Much of her extended family live within just a few miles of us! Jeanne has been singing professionally for the better part of the last 14 years. She was encouraged by her uncle as a young child and she hasn’t stopped singing since. She even sang at our wedding. Jeanne looks forward to singing lullabies to a baby and filling the house with music.

Eight years ago, Jeanne enrolled in a weight loss program and lost 50 pounds. After reaching her weight goal, she began working for the company coaching others through their weight loss journey. Jeanne maintains an active, healthy lifestyle. She enjoys cooking delicious and nutritious meals. But don’t let that fool you; she’s not all sprouts and granola. Jeanne has become the family birthday cake baker and her elaborate creations have included a monster truck, a Hawaiian Island complete with hula girl, a woodland fairy cake and matching cowboy and cowgirl cakes! Jeanne is excited to step down from her career to become a stay at home mom–the most cherished job she can imagine.

OUR HOBBIES

We love to travel and most of our vacations include family. Jeanne’s aunt and uncle live on Lake of the Ozarks, one of our favorite destinations. We look forward to taking family road trips and other vacation adventures with a child. We also love biking and walking around our little town, dining at local restaurants and enjoying the many perks our community offers such as swimming pools and wonderful park district programs. Above all, we enjoy our time at home together.

OUR PROMISE

We have given much thought to the kind of home we wish to provide for a child and we guarantee it will be a home filled with love and security, structure and morals and fun and laughter. Your child will be surrounded by family and friends who are loving, kind and fun to be around!

We promise to be open and honest with our child and look forward to sharing information about his or her adoption. We also look forward to maintaining an open relationship with you– if that is something you would want.
