We are Kedar & Gunjan from the Chicago suburbs, and we are so honored and grateful to be considered as part of your adoption journey. While we have much to learn about one another, you have already gained respect and admiration in our eyes for your courage.

We are Kedar & Gunjan from the Chicago suburbs, and we are so honored and grateful to be considered as part of your adoption journey. While we have much to learn about one another, you have already gained respect and admiration in our eyes for your courage.
A Little About Us
We like to think of ourselves as loving, understanding, responsible and above all fun! We are both Libras and innately romantic at heart and the story of how we met could be a classic example of fate. As a teen, Kedar and his family lived in the same neighborhood as Gunjan, and our paths would have surely crossed at some point as we were both working at our local mall, attended the same Sunday school, and came to find out afterwards, we even had mutual friends!
As fate would have it, we didn’t meet until years later, when Kedar was living in Florida and a mutual friend in Chicago introduced us over an online chat. Kedar vividly remembers that day, Gunjan was heading out with her friend that evening and he was working on his computer and almost said no to the online chat, but he’s glad he didn’t, because here we are happily married fourteen years later!
The past sixteen years have been filled with memories; starting with an adventurous proposal in Chicago, engagement party in Florida, and then our wedding in Chicago less than six months later. We’ve been together through a couple of apartments in Florida, career changes, business ventures, moving back to Chicago in 2011, and finally settling down in our home in 2013.
Adoption was always part of our life plan; we just didn’t know when it would become reality. After trying unsuccessfully to conceive through many fertility treatments and surrogacy, we knew that we were meant to build our family through adoption. Our fertility struggles have only strengthened our desire to become parents.
A Little About Us
We like to think of ourselves as loving, understanding, responsible and above all fun! About Gunjan (By Kedar)
Sometimes all the words are not enough when you have found your person in life. I can say that my life has improved in many ways after meeting Gunjan, and I have become a better man. When you meet Gunjan, what you see is what you get. She is authentic and genuinely cares for those around her. If you were to ask her friends to describe her, they will tell you she is someone you can depend on no matter what. Her silliness is infectious, and she can strike up a conversation with anyone.
She is also very loving, caring, organized, creative, smart and a bona fide planner, an area in life I can probably improve on. She is the go-to person when we are researching and planning our trips. When Gunjan went through a challenging time, I admired her strength, dedication, and perseverance as she worked through it.
Gunjan has been working as a preschool teacher for more than twenty years. She naturally gravitates to children whether in the workplace or outside with family and friends. I know that she would make a wonderful mom. In her free time, Gunjan loves to cook, read, watch movies, and has interests in arts, fashion and interior design. I’m so fortunate to be her partner in life and have enjoyed our journey so far and am looking forward to what the future will bring.

Our Home and Families
We couldn’t be happier with the neighborhood we settled down in. We are just down the street from an elementary school and can’t wait to walk our child to school. It’s a safe neighborhood and during summer months, you can see children playing outside, riding their bikes, skateboarding and many residents out for walk. Neighborhood block parties are also a norm.
We are also fortunate to live within a short driving distance of Gunjan’s mom, brother, sister-in-law, and three nieces. Kedar’s mother, father, brother, sister-in-law, and their two children currently reside in Florida, and we love spending quality time with them when we make our annual trip or when they visit us in Chicago. We love hosting family for holidays! Since we are a blend of both Indian and American heritage, your child would be exposed to equally important values of Eastern and Western cultures.
