About Us:
We met about nine years ago on Match.com. We spent hours talking on the phone and texting until we finally decided to meet. We clicked on so many topics from our passion for animals to the importance of family and everything in between. We make each other laugh and support one another in every way. We have been pretty much inseparable ever since our first date. We bought our house about seven months into the relationship, a year later got engaged, and then married. We have a great relationship, what one person lacks the other makes up for. One is a little shy while the other more outgoing. One is great with their hands while the other is great with computers and technology. One is a great cook while the other not so much but tries!
Adoption has always been in our plan. Josh grew up mostly in foster care until he was a young adult. His experiences have led him to appreciating the importance of adoption. We feel blessed to be able to have and give this opportunity to a child. We know we can give a child a great future full of love, support, and family.

About Patty:
I am honest, trustworthy, empathetic, outgoing, a bit of a smart-aleck, hardworking, and very caring. Overall, I try to be a positive person. I like to read, put puzzles together, and dance (even though I am terrible at it). I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends, especially my two beautiful nephews. My parents continue to reside nearby in my childhood home and my brothers also live in the area. I have two older brothers, Brian and William. William and his wife Susan blessed us with my two nephews, ages six and nine.
I am a Manager of Cancer Research. I am currently working on building the cancer clinical trials program for my community. I love my job and love that I am trying to make a difference for my community and for cancer patients. I recently took a job in the same field closer to home (10 mins) because it is important to me to spend less time commuting and be home to raise our family.

About Josh:
I am a little shyer and more soft-spoken than Patty. I think most of those who are close to me would say that I am outgoing though. I am hardworking, have a great work ethic, and I try to be as generous as I can. My true passion is the outdoors and fishing. I also enjoy gardening and an occasional long-distance run for a stress reliever. I grew up close to my aunt and she remains nearby and an important part of my life.
I currently work at Illinois International Port District as the Assistant Facilities Director. I basically fix anything in the port from electrical, plumbing, Coast Guard issues, roofing, to general maintenance tasks. I enjoy working with my hands and having a different challenge every day.

What we love:
We are huge dog lovers. We currently have two border collies, Duke (four years old) and Callie (11 months). They are our world. We love spending time with them and taking them to the park or to the beach to play Frisbee. We enjoy going to sporting events (Cubs, Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks). We love music, going to concerts/outdoor festivals or just dancing around in the garage to some great songs. We love the outdoors and going camping, hiking, sitting by a campfire, or being by the pool. Fishing is a big part of our lives as well. Josh has a bass boat and loves to get out on the water to catch fish whenever he can. He can’t wait to teach his son or daughter how to fish.

Our Home and Community:
Our home is in Northwest Indiana. It has a beautiful fenced in yard for the dogs to run around and play in and we also have a pool where we love to spend hot summer days. It is a good separation between city and suburb. We love our neighborhood. It is a very diverse community with a great park district. There is always something to do for children and families in the central park throughout the year. The whole community comes out for events and activities. The central park is within walking distance of our home. We also live close enough to Chicago where we are able to go and see a ballgame or go to a museum for the just the day.
