We're Lauren and Graham, and we are incredibly excited to expand our family as first-time parents. We appreciate the courage and love you are demonstrating in making the decision to find a loving adoptive family for your baby. We know that you want the absolute best for your baby and we would be honored if you would consider us as you continue your adoption journey. A child that grows up in our home will be showered in love, laughter, knowledge, empowerment, and encouragement – and lots of warm snuggles from our dog, Penny.
About Lauren & Graham
High school sweethearts, we started dating during our freshman year. Since then, we have grown into the perfect team of devoted and fun-loving best friends, becoming each other's greatest cheerleader and complementing each other's unique traits and interests. After graduating from college, we lived in France together for a year where we got engaged and also got the itch to explore more of the world.
Married in July 2011 surrounded by our loving family and friends, we have since had the blessing to travel to many countries and make it a point to seek out new cultures, languages, and food every year, something we plan to share with our own kids. Today, we enjoy hanging out with our dog (who would love a playmate!), spending time with friends & family, and eagerly await growing our family and the opportunity to shower a baby with love.
Born and raised in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, I'm the middle child with an older brother who lives nearby with his wife, and a younger brother, who lives near Orlando, Florida, with his wife (a great place for family vacations!). My mom, who is one of the most loving and kindest people on the planet – someone who cannot wait to be a grandma – lives nearby.
Since high school, I've had a passion for travel. In college, I had the opportunity to study abroad in France where I lived with a local family. After that, Graham and I lived in Europe together while I taught English to French students. It was an amazing experience and we made so many great friends that we still visit today. I can't wait to share my passion for travel and international culture with our children. In 2013, I graduated from law school and now work as an attorney for a bank in Chicago.
In addition to a large extended family, Graham and I are fortunate to have a large group of great friends, most of whom we have known for years and have kids of their own. We love spending time with them and sharing in fun experiences with their kids. In my free time I like to bake delicious treats (including Graham's great-grandma's Swedish cardamon bread recipe!), read books, and stay active , including running in 5k races.
I was also born and raised in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. I have an older brother who lives in Minneapolis with his wife and two young children. My parents live in a nearby Chicago suburb and cannot wait to meet and love their next grandchild. We regularly get together for holidays, birthdays, and just to have fun. At work, I manage a marketing team for a commercial real estate company.
I love all kinds of music! I've been going to concerts and playing instruments since I was very young. In college, I recorded and released a few albums on a small record label.
I still write and record a lot of music – and work on others’ music, too. In fact, part of our house is a recording studio where I hope to share my love of music with our kids. I also love the outdoors and enjoy camping and hiking with friends and family, usually to our family farm in Upper Peninsula Michigan. I cannot wait to share that passion with our kids and see their faces as they gaze upon a clear night sky full of stars for the first time.
Penny is our 13-year-old dog who we rescued at only a few months old. She’s great with kids and loves to snuggle, go for long walks, lay in the sun, and burrow under blankets.
Our Home & Community
We live in a western suburb of Chicago, where we have a home with a fenced-in yard in a friendly neighborhood with lots of other young families with children. Just one block away from an elementary school, we are also walking distance from our area’s amazing downtown full of restaurants, a movie theater, the train station, and a few ice cream shops, our favorite after-dinner treat.
Thank you for taking the time to read our profile. We hope that we've given you some insight into our lives, shared some of our excitement in starting a family, and offered a glimpse of the love and encouragement that awaits a child in our home. We would love to learn more about you, too! We're thrilled to be able to introduce ourselves to you and admire your strength, love, and courage in considering adoption.
