Dear expectant mother,
We know you must be going through so much while considering a possible adoptive family for your baby, and we appreciate your heart to make the best possible decision for your baby. We’d be honored to be considered as a family for him or her. We hope that this letter will give you a glimpse into our lives and what life could be like for your baby. We want you to have peace knowing that, with us, your child would have a loving home and a life that would allow him or her to flourish.
With love and respect,
Mike & Angel
What we do.
We love eating at new places, taking the dogs to the dog park, riding bikes, fishing, watching movies, playing games and cards and having a good time, laughing with each other, friends and family. We try to do something different each weekend, but also enjoy resting and working around the home. From singing karaoke to getting our guitars out at home, one of our favorite things is singing and playing music together.
Mike has worked at the electric company for two years at the generating plant and Angel has been a graphic designer on a marketing team for ten years and is now working from home.
Both of our families are very close to one another, playing games, sports and having dinners . Mike has two brothers and Angel has one brother and two sisters. We have eight nieces and three nephews from age 2 to 18 who mostly love to do crafts with Aunt Angel and the little ones piggy back ride with Uncle Mikey.
We moved to Valparaiso in 2013 to help start our church, which has been an amazing experience. We now live in a modest home with lots of room near a lake where it’s quiet and close to nature. We often have cookouts with the neighbors who are all very down to earth. Valparaiso is an extremely family-oriented town with several very nice parks and lots for kids to do all year round. We are looking forward to sharing it with our children. Our two dogs, Napolean and Sasha are 20 and 10 pound Italian Greyhounds who love the two little neighbor dogs, running and cuddling.
We are both in our 30’s and have a great relationship. We respect each other, have fun with each other as best friends and have an understanding for each other’s differences. When we got married ten years ago, we had no idea where God would take us and how we would grow. We’ve grown to love each other more every day. We’ve grown to learn what our purpose is here on earth. We’ve grown to see just how precious having a child would be for us.
Six years ago, Mike started to really have a heart for adopting a child while we were fostering children. When we moved to Valparaiso, we became certified to adopt through the state of Indiana and began the adoption process with Adoption Center for Family Building. Since then, we’ve gone through several infertility treatments and a heartbreaking miscarriage, closing the child bearing chapter in our lives. We are hopeful that adoption will be one of the ways that God will bless us with the opportunity to experience parenthood.
Our vision for our family.
Our vision is to teach our child(ren) at an early age about Jesus and how much they are loved. Our parenting style consists of many factors. With each child, we plan to have a heart guided by grace. Our kids will know the difference between right and wrong, but we know they will make mistakes and we will lovingly lead them back on the right path. We’ll have a good balance of being attentive to each child, and being very loving yet firm with a strong emphasis on them having fun and being themselves. Our dream is that our children will be close to all their cousins, aunts and uncles and grandparents – who are all excited to show our children so much love.
What we say about each other.
Here’s what Mike says about Angel:
“My wife and I have a great marriage. We have been married for since 2007 and dating since 2005. She is my best friend, and she and I share everything together. We consistently have a date night, usually once a week. She is the person I share all my fears, failures, setbacks, and successes with. We have very open communication with each other. Angel is smart, beautiful, talented, organized, and extremely caring. She notices when I have bad days and is good about cheering me up.
Angel and I both love music. We love to sing together, go fishing, play board games, and watch movies. We both are very social and love to hang out with friends and family. We differ in that she is very organized and neat, which is why she takes care of the finances. I am more “go with the flow” and laid back. We complement each other perfectly. We both take care of dishes and laundry. Basically, when I have time I will load the dishwasher or throw in a load of laundry, and she will do the same. We will both finish the other person’s chore if the other doesn’t have time to get to it.”
Here’s what Angel says about Mike:
“I love Mike more all the time. He has beautiful green eyes and a great smile; he’s gentle, hilarious, trustworthy and one of the most patient people you will meet. He is super playful with all of the kids with piggy back and shoulder rides, chasing, pushing swings and playing outside – he’s the one who gets on the rides with the kids, too. Mike is always willing to hear my feelings, even when I feel like I am being ridiculous in my needs. I wouldn’t want to share my life with anyone else.”
Thank you for letting us share a little of our story with you. We would love to be a part of your life and the life of the baby. Should you choose us to be your baby’s parents, we commit to loving unconditionally, celebrating adoption and helping him or her reach their full potential.
